Transmission Flushes should be done about every 100,000 miles on a standard semi truck. Not doing this service can cause a transmission failure, viscosity breakdown and shorten its life. We do transmission flushes to renew the fluid in the transmission and keep it contaminate free. Transmission fluid acts as a lubricant inside the transmission. If left neglected, metal shavings from inside the transmission will get caught in the transmission fluid leading to an unhealthy transmission. A transmission could potentially cost thousands of dollars which is what makes this a necessary maintenance item, not to be neglected.
